Making bread is one of the most life-affirming things you can do. But…. how did it get so complicated? If you’ve googled making bread, asked a couple of friends and looked at a couple of books, you’ve probably seen a whole host of different methods, from easy to really complicated. Where to start? Join us. We’ll get you started. We’ll tell you all about flour – what’s good, and what to avoid. We’ll explain the different types of flour and show you the millroom. We’ll teach you what you need to know about the language of sourdough, so that you know exactly what ‘starter’, ‘hydration’, ‘fermentation’, ‘proving’, and ‘shaping’ all mean. Then we’ll make bread together, giving you time to practice your techniques, ask questions and build confidence. Our classes are filled with laughter, good food, and tons to learn. We’ll teach you everything you need to get started with making Sourdough Wholegrain Bread. Come bake with us and experience the goodness of freshly milled, small batch flour. Morning tea, lunch and a tour of the Goodness Flour Millroom are all included. Take home • the bread you've made • some starter • 500g of freshly milled Rye Flour to feed you starter • recipes for each of the breads you've baked.
